It was probably attached to a dresser, vanity, or something similar. I think someone repurposed it by flipping it upside down, attaching the hook, and then also adding a hook to the back for hanging. This is just my theory but I could be wrong.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is carving along the bottom ledge where the hook is and this small ledge makes a tiny shelf as well. I think it's mainly functional as a hook and mirror. I think it would look great in an entryway as a place to hang your hat, keys, dog leash, etc. I also thought it would be charming with a smaller wreath.
