Mid-Century Fat Lava Glazed Flower Lamp by Quebec Ceramist Maurice Chalvignac
Mid-Century Fat Lava Glazed Flower Lamp by Quebec Ceramist Maurice Chalvignac
A gorgeous mid-century lamp by famous Quebec ceramist, Maurice Chalvignac. Pieces by him sell for high prices online and the workmanship is fantastic. This is a stunning piece.
Chalvignac was born in France in 1927 and emigrated to Canada in 1957. He moved to Montreal, Quebec and continued his work in art, sculpture, and ceramics.
The harp is missing from the lamp but that is easy enough to replace and you can attach a new one to the lamp base and from there is where you would hang your lampshade. You can purchase them online or at hardware stores. I thought about getting one to go with the lamp but thought it might be best to leave that decision to the customer who purchases the lamp as you can decide the look, height, and style of the one you want to match the lampshade you want to add. Usually I wouldn't be able to ship a lamp of this size with the harp on it but since the harp is off, it can be shipped! :)
Measurements:
- 12.5” tall from base to tip of petal
- Approximately 17” tall in total from base to top of light bulb holder
- Approximately 14” across at the widest points
- The cord is 79” long
