I styled a gallery wall on either side of the hutch and every item on the wall is for sale. All of the items on the hutch are for sale, too!

I cannot find this photograph anywhere online, for sale or otherwise. However I do know when I searched for Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders WW2 memorabilia for sale, the items that I did find were priced quite highly.

I did some research on this and found an entire Wikipedia page about this battalion. You can read about it in full here.

According to Wikipedia:  "The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's), or A & SH of C, is a Primary Reserve Highland infantry regiment of the Canadian Forces, based at John W. Foote VC Armoury in Hamilton, Ontario.

The idea for a full Highland regiment in Hamilton first took shape among the members of the St. Andrew's Society and the Sons of Scotland..."

Since this specific picture mentions Jamaica, I found the specific information about that time. According to Wikipedia: "Jamaica: September 1941 to May 1943 brought a sojourn in the sun – garrison duty in Jamaica. During this period, the reality of war was brought home by the fate of the Winnipeg Grenadiers (which unit the Argylls replaced in Jamaica) in Hong Kong, and of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry (a sister unit from Hamilton) at Dieppe. Under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Ian Sinclair, the unit received new weapons and modern equipment, improved its administration, and began a complete program of small unit tactics, fitness, and training."

Prior to being stationed in Jamaica, the battalion had been stationed in Niagara-on-the-Lake. After returning from Jamaica, they went to England and later, Normandy.

Framed and matted behind glass in a wood frame. There is a wire on the back for hanging.

Written on the picture: W.O's & SGTS.... The 1st Batt. Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (P.L.) of Canada... Jamaica ~1941-1943
