This piece is absolutely gorgeous and I can only assume it's handmade and one of a kind. I couldn't find anything else that looked like it online.
I purchased three of these wooden pictures from a 180 year old barn house estate in Eastern Ontario. They were under a stack of old magazines and boxes and I was so excited to find them. I brought them home and cleaned them off while still leaving their natural patina. I didn't want to scrub too hard and risk taking off the paint.
They very well might be antique but I have no way to date them and, like I said, couldn't find anything like them online. I believe they are handmade with the wood recessed and carved and then painted.
This particular piece features a blue jay bird but you can see a photo of all three pieces at the end of the photo gallery. This specific piece shows a blue jay sitting on a branch. There isn't a hook on the back for hanging, but you could always attach a picture hanging hook or just lean the picture on a sideboard or shelf in your home. However you display it, it's sure to make a statement!
